Maybe it's a bit soon to start calling yourself "Lead Foot..."

This afternoon I had surgery to have a plate and some screws inserted into my right ankle so that it will heal appropriately. I'm not sure why it never clicked, but I learned today that this will be a permanent metal detector hazard.

I am still a bit achy and sore from the procedure and can actually feel the metal in my ankle. It's a bit unsettling to be honest. Also difficult to deal with is the fact that I've apparently got a very high tolerance for pain medicine. Seriously, I got a lot of stuff in the hospital including a "nerve block" that was supposed to numb my entire leg on top of two prescriptions for pain killers to bring home. I didn't expect to feel nothing (despite how amazing that would be) though I hoped that it wouldn't hurt quite so much. The nurses also mentioned that I should be very sleepy and pretty wiped out for the rest of the day--I've been awake for a while and don't seem to be feeling tired just yet.

Also, today I found a way to seamlessly and effectively incorporate "Pants on the Ground" into causal conversation. It was quite a success!

This is really not pleasant and I'm not sure how comfortable tonight will be. Maybe one of my next updates will be more entertaining and less about my aches and pains!
